For many homeowners, taking care of their property can seem like a constant “to-do” list. One of the never-ending tasks that simply must be done is the task of mowing the grass. How often do you do that? Sometimes, it seems like as soon as you turn off the lawnmower, it’s nearly ready to be done again. At times, you may be tempted to do one of two things – either let the grass grow extra long between cuts, or cut the grass extra short so that it can wait a little longer.
In either case, you may be setting yourself up for more long-term problems. For example, let’s say you went with the option of letting your grass grow a bit longer than is typical. It may be that some pests may take advantage of that, and make your lawn their home. On the other hand, cutting your grass extra short may lead to damaged or shallow root systems, causing your lawn to wither easily.
