Insulate Windows and Doors – Earlier, we discussed big insulation projects in the attic but you can also insulate the windows and doors within your home to reduce the leakage of heat.
As a cheap solution, windows can be sealed with rope caulk or weatherstripping. As long as you go right around the perimeter, you will be limiting the air that escapes as well as the air that comes in. Furthermore, you can also find sweeps that can be attached to the bottom of doors which removes the gap between door and floor.
With windows and particularly frames, they often crack and succumb to other damage caused by the weather so you should regularly assess their condition and replace any that are inefficient at doing their job.
