Many times people ask me if a crack in their basement slab is a structural defect. While every crack is very institutional, for the most part there is a general answer o this question.
The simple answer is: Most likely no. The vast majority of slabs are non-structural and are there more for human convenience and a moisture barrier more than anything else.
