Denim Insulation
Here in the cold North, insulation is very important. A product that is quickly becoming more popular now is denim insulation, as you can see in the picture to the left.
Made from recycled denim products, such as clothes, denim insulation is a great alternative to traditional insulation.
But why is denim insulation so popular? Here are just a few reasons why:
- Great R-Value. Denim insulation keeps your home warmer and saves you money.
- Eco-friendly. Because it is made up of about 85% recycled products, denim insulation is great for the environment.
- It dampens noise. Denim insulation’s acoustical rating is about 30% higher than traditional insulation and keeps your home quieter.
- It”s healthy. Well, relatively. It is typically low/no VOC and does not have the same itchiness as fiberglass insulation does.
Now the down side…. cost. It costs nearly twice as much as traditional insulation. But if you are able to handle the additional cost, denim insulation is an incredible product!
